Registering for Access
The text on this page is a working draft. Final wording is to be provided by the secretariat.
Everything published on this site — the directory, the publications and every Data Maintenance Request (DMR) — can be browsed without an account. Reading is always open.
An account is only needed when you want to take part: submit a DMR, vote on someone else's, suggest an amendment, or (for the chair) record a decision.
What you can do with and without an account

How to register
The contributor portal signs you in with the UNICC-hosted GitLab instance at
https://opensource.unicc.org, which hosts this repository.
- Go to opensource.unicc.org and create an account, or sign in if you already have one.
- Return to the site and open Browse all DMRs or Submit a DMR.
- Click Sign in in the Contributor access banner at the top of the page.
- GitLab shows a one-time Authorize prompt. Approve it — you are returned to the page you started from, now signed in.
Your session is held in your browser only. There is no separate account for this site, and no personal data is stored by it. Sign out at any time from the same banner.
The Contributor access banner at the top of the contributor pages shows your state at a glance — once signed in, it names your account and your tier:
Permission levels
What you can do beyond voting and commenting depends on your role in the GitLab project. Roles are granted by the secretariat.

| Guest / Reporter | Community | Submit DMRs, vote, comment. Signal only. |
| Developer | Focal point | As above, with the weight of a National Focal Point behind the endorsement. |
| Maintainer / Owner | Chair | As above, plus Approve / Reject and batching for publication. |
If you are a National Focal Point or a member of the maintenance team and your
account shows as Community, contact the secretariat at cefact@un.org to have
your role raised.
